A great achievement !

Zinnatun Akther is an ID child of GNB under Birganj CDP. Her father name is Md. Ibrahim Ali and Mother’s name is Habiba Begum. She is a student of Mahanpur Ideal High School. She is regular students and enjoys going to school regularly. National Girls Child Advocacy Forum arranged an essay writing competition with the help of Caritas Bangladesh nationally. Zinnatun Akther took part in the competition and she has got 2^nd place in Essay Writing Competition.

Zinnatun Akther comes from a poor family. She is about to appear JSC Public Examination this year. There are five members in her family. Their financial condition is very poor. She lives with his parents and two younger brothers. Her father is a day labor and works in a small rice husking mill. Her mother is a house wife. They live hand to mouth because of her father’s income is limited.

However, she is very much potential student.  She participated in a National based Essay Writing Competition on the occasion of National Girl Child Day of her own interest. The theme is “How to ensure security for girl child in academic institutions”. She wrote a very good article and sent it through Good Neighbors Bangladesh Birganj CDP on 17^th September 2015.  Responsible staff name is Mr. Peter Barikder, SS-E helped her to participate in the competition by sending her article along with other 28 article of 28 competitors from Birganj CDP. Participants took part in the competition from all over Bangladesh.  Among them, she got second prize. This is really a great achievement. We congratulated her for the achievement.

She was called to be present on 12^th October-15 for participating in an award giving program. She, her father and CDP staff (SS-E) took part in the program.  More than two thousand participant’s attended in the program. The chief guest was Meher Afroz Chumki, MP, Honorable Minister of State, the Ministry of Women & Children Affairs. Special Guest were Mr. Mosharof Hossen – Director, Bangladesh Shishu (Children) Academy, Dr. Bodiul Alom Mojumder- Secretary, National Girls Child Advocacy Forum, Dr. Benedict Alo D’ Rozario- Executive Director, Caritas Bangladesh. The Chief Guest and special guests handed over the certificate and crest to the winners gradually.

It was really very effective program for all children. Through these types of programs, all children will be encouraged and they will try to know and learn more and more.
